I have actually gone to Thailand several times because I really like it there. I feel very comfortable in Thailand for a lot of reasons, so I like to take extended trips there.

Thailand Dream Vacation after #Covid19

It’s easy to have an enjoyable time in Thailand without spending very much money. In addition to simply walking or bicycling around enjoying the sights and the eats, you can just enjoy the weather. Most of the time, it is sunny and pleasant and you can wear your most comfortable, casual summer clothes. On my last trip I cycled around the city, bought souvenirs, took pictures and just soaked in the general atmosphere. It is very carefree and relaxed.

Thai food is much more flavorful and spicy. I like to go to the outdoor stalls and just watch the food preparation and sample all the different kinds of food on offer. You can have a great day just wandering around the streets in any part of Thailand eating fabulous foods at cheap prices. Be sure to order “mai pet” if you don’t like it too Spicy.

1- IT’S AFFORDABLE

You can still afford it…

I don’t know how much I can stress this one but one of the best reasons to holiday in Thailand is because it is extremely affordable. You can stay at a fabulous hotel, for insanely cheap. I’m talking a sick hotel, in high season for nearly a quarter of what I would pay in the States and Europe. And we don’t have to stop at the prices of  accommodation. The food, shopping, excursions and spa days are also ridiculously cheap. It’s cheaper to eat out than to cook at home or an Air B & B and more economical to drink at a bar than to buy it at a store. Um, what? But no, let’s not stop there. Shopping for resort wear has never been more affordable. Skip Nordstroms and buy cover-ups, tops, whatever your heart desires for a few USD on the islands of Koh Samui & Phuket. After a day spent at the beach, why not treat yourself with an hour long massage near the sea for about 5 USD? Go ahead, treat yourself and don’t think twice about it.  Perfect Phuket Dream Vacation after #Covid19 well deserved breakaway.

2) IT’S GORGEOUS

See something NEW after being locked in your house for months

Thailand has it all; gorgeous beaches, clear, warm water, lush rainforests, and peaceful countrysides. There really is something for everyone here. If you’re a honeymooner, you have the lux resort island of Koh Samui. Or if you’re feeling up to partying all night at a full moon party, there is Phuket. Even the islands provide an identity & personality making it easy to tailor your holiday to what you want. But let’s not forget the bustling city of Bangkok for when that island fever kicks in. Get your kicks in this giant, cosmopolitan city by checking out the Royal Palace and don’t forget to grab a cocktail on one of the many rooftop bars overlooking the city. When you’re ready for some culture, head north to beautiful Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai to play with elephants in lush forests. If you want unspoilt countryside and natural beauty, head to Pai. With countless waterfalls, beaches, forests, and a gorgeous countryside, Thailand has a lot to offer in the natural beauty department.

Bangkok is the capital and most populous city of Thailand. It is known in Thai as Krung Thep … City of angels

3) THE FOOD

Thai cuisine is the national cuisine of Thailand. Thai cooking places emphasis on lightly prepared dishes with strong aromatic components and a spicy edge.

Whether you’re a foodie or not, the food in Thailand is well worth the trip. Even if your skeptical of trying something new, Thailand has many dishes that doesn’t require an adventurous eater, such as stir fries, fried rice (Kao Pad, my favorite) and yummy dessert like mango sticky rice. You can really go on a food frenzy here and be in fat kid heaven. And like I said, it’s cheap so don’t feel bad if you want to order a few dishes when you’re out because I sure did!

4) CULTURE

But beyond Bangkok’s city lights, 5-star hotels and night markets, there is an absolute trove of culture and tradition

One of my top reasons to choose Thailand for your next holiday is that it is a cultural hot spot without too much culture shock. From my three weeks in Thailand, I explored countless beautiful temples, explored the religion of Buddhism and spoke with monks about their way of life. The best thing? It doesn’t cost an arm to explore the culture and spirit of Thailand either.

5) THERE ARE ELEPHANTS

One of the most anticipated things to do in Thailand is to spend a day with elephants!

One of my top reasons to holiday in Thailand is because of the elephants! Playing with families of elephants is one of the most eye opening experiences I’ve had to date. With their populations dwindling due to ivory poachers, be sure to choose an ethical company that aims to keep these amazing animals protected and safe. I highly recommend Elephant Jungle Sanctuary, Ran-tong Elephant Rescue Camp, & Elephant Nature Park. Choose to participate in a nature camp, which allows you to play with elephant families, bathe them in the river, and feed them yummy sugar cane & bananas.

6) THE SHOPPING

Thailand, particularly Bangkok, is definitely a paradise for all shopaholics.

Shopping is a great reason to holiday in Thailand. Try shopping in Europe and not coming home broke. It’s hard. However, go to Thailand, buy some cute resort wear and notice that it doesn’t hurt the bank. While you’re at it, it’s fun to buy some elephant print pants (you know you wanna) and some rad art done by locals. Also, negotiating is half the fun when you shop in the markets so go ahead and live a little!

7) PERFECT FOR ALL TRAVELERS

Luxurious in more ways than one and perfect for all travelers

A top honeymooning spot for a luxurious experience at an affordable price. Great for families with tons of beaches to play at and elephant nature camps to experience. Great for traveling with friends due to bustling backpacker community. This same reason is also why it’s great for solo traveling. There are so many reasons to holiday in Thailand and for every traveler at any stage of their life.

8) IT’S SAFE

It’s an easy country to travel and you can meet a lot of other people there.

Despite what many may say, I felt safe the entire time I was in Thailand, even when I was traveling solo. I never felt harassed, “hunted down”, bothered, stared at, nothing. I felt very comfortable during my stay in Thailand and never once felt that my personal safety was compromised. With this being said, it is also smart to educate yourself on what not to do, avoid areas with conflict, or party too hard. Quite frankly, a lot of times we are the ones who put ourselves in dangerous situations that be easily avoided, like don’t trust overly friendly locals, drinks from strangers or be out alone at night in a scary looking alley way. If you are traveling solo and questioning visiting Thailand alone, don’t be weary. There are so many travelers and Westerners in Thailand that it almost felt like home.

9) THE LOCALS ARE FRIENDLY

Traveling abroad involves talking to the locals.

In my many years of travel, I have been to many places where I didn’t feel particularly welcomed, which can somewhat dampen the experience. However, the Thai are highly hospitable and friendly. I found the locals to be helpful and extremely accommodating, thus enhancing my positive experience in their gorgeous country. Just be respectful and bask in the friendliness of the country. I mean you are in the Land of Smiles!

10) YOU CAN INDULGE & NOT FEEL GUILTY ABOUT IT

Have the benefit of

Ah, my favorite thing! One of my favorite reasons to holiday in Thailand is that you can indulge by taking advantage of the cheap and endless massages on the beach, enjoy spicy Thai food, shop till you drop and not feel like you spent a year’s salary on clothes. There’s a certain hedonistic quality to Thailand that I can’t necessarily put my finger on. Maybe it’s the beauty, the affordability or the endless supply of indulgences. Like I said, I’m not sure what it is that makes it so intoxicating but whatever it is, it’s working.

So as you can see, Thailand has it all. Wonderful beaches with warm water. Endless supply of tasty food and cold cocktails. Massages on the beach and yoga on the sand. What other reasons do you need to holiday in Thailand?

Take Some Beautiful Pictures

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving.

There are lots of gorgeous photo-ops. The beaches and the village streets are equally charming. The water is beautiful and blue. Some of the most pristine places to visit are Ko Lanta, Ko Adang, Ko Kood, Ko Chang and Surin Island. These are all lovely little islands in the south near the border of Malaysia. They provide the perfect setting for getting away from it all and taking some stunning photographs.

The jungles are also impressive and wonderful to explore and take photos. I really enjoyed visiting Khao Yai National Park on my last visit. I was able to walk through the jungles on well maintained paths and spend some time with friendly elephants. Although the national park is well-cared-for and user friendly, it is still filled with natural wonder. There is lots of wildlife to observe, and there are some fabulous waterfalls you can enjoy “showering” in!

It’s Safe & Friendly

Go safe, move safe, leave safe, home safe.

It also feels very safe in Thailand. You don’t have to worry about your things being stolen or yourself being in danger. The people are friendly and welcoming. They have a happy life, and they are always helpful and polite. When you visit often, as I do, people get to know you and remember you. They will greet you happily by name every day. That makes every trip enjoyable and keeps me looking forward to the next time I spend a holiday in Thailand.
It’s Easy To Branch Out Phuket Dream Vacation after #Covid19

In addition to its own culturally specific attractions, Thailand also has a very international feel. You can spend days “going native” and enjoying authentic Thai delicacies and experiences, then you can turn right around and go to a Starbucks if you want to. They have all the modern conveniences in Thailand from global food chains to popular shopping to movies. One of the greatest things is that shops, restaurants and other venues are open at all hours of the day and night. You can have a grand time any time you like. This is especially true of Bangkok, which is a very modern city that seems to be doing its best to evoke a New York state of mind.

It’s also very easy to explore other great holiday destinations by setting up a “home-base” in Thailand. You can travel to Singapore, Hong Kong or Bali in just a couple of hours. You are situated an even and convenient distance from both Europe and Australia. Not only is the travel convenient, it’s also cheap. Accommodations in Thailand are cheap, too, so you can easily afford to set up a base of operations and take lots of day trips and 2 or 3 day jaunts during your Thai holiday.

As I said, I have gone to Thailand a number of times. Each time, I find new things to do and explore. No matter what you love, you are sure to have an enjoyable and rewarding time when you take a holiday in Thailand.
