The recent few bombs that went off in Thailand has subsequently caused a few cancellations of Yacht Charter and I would imagine in the tourist section in general.
Whilst i understand the caution that tourists take there is honestly no need to cancel your whole holiday. Sadly this is the world that we live in today but lets put things into perspective,
They were a few “letter bombs” of no significance altho I believe sadly one food vendor lost his life. This is not the work of international terrorisism as the authorities have pointed out.
Just avoid areas where the obvious targets are for these incidents , for example large crowds in Paris one would probably avoid, same goes for here .
Book a hotel outside of the Patong area.
Certainly extremely safe out at sea.
In this world we live in today its a fact of life that everywhere in the world these things happen, one just has to be cautious and adjust to it and avoid areas where there is more to gain for these criminals .
